“Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord…
That they may rest from their labors;
And their works to follow them.”
John Kruhmin served faithfully as an Elder in the Suncoast Bible Presbyterian Church, Palm Harbor, Florida. John and his wife Lillian were a faithful and consistent part of their church’s ministry.
John died at age 90 on November 2, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 23, 1925. He prepared for service with the Merchant Marines at Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy.
The Kruhmins took several trips to the Baltic states to distribute Christian literature and to witness for Jesus Christ in any way they could, including helping the ministry of Christian radio in that area. John’s parents were born in Latvia.
When close friend Dr. Arthur Steele proposed starting a Christian college in Florida in the mid-sixties John Kruhmin was right beside him to help. John’s engineering experience was a great assistance in the design and planning of the Clearwater Christian College Campus which opened in 1966 in the city of Clearwater Florida.
The 81st General Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church, meeting in Edmonton, Alberta, August 3-7, 2017, takes note of this servant of the Lord and his faithful testimony for Jesus Christ. May God raise up more like-minded Christian lay leaders in all our churches.
