XXIX. Ques. How are we made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ?
Ans.
We are made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ, by the effectual application of it to us by his Holy Spirit.

Q. 1. By whom was our redemption purchased?
A. Our redemption was purchased for us by the blood of Christ. "By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." — Heb. 9:12.

Q. 2. By whom is our redemption applied?
A. Our redemption is applied by the Holy Spirit, in his effectual operation upon us. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour." — Tit. 3:5, 6.
