Resolution 63:1 – Memorial Resolution Elder John William Zink, Jr. 1921-1998
John Zink was a veteran of World War II, having served in the army for three years. He was married to the former Laura Behan. Their children are Donald, Suzan and Jackie. They also have three grandchildren.
John worked as a machinist, working at Crosley Motor Company, and then at Ford Motor Company. John Zink and his family became members of the Grace Bible Presbyterian Church in Sharonville, Ohio, in 1967, shortly after the founding of the church.
Soon after, John and Laura began serving as leaders of the Junior youth group. Their lives helped many people walk with the Lord, especially meaningful to the youth, was their ministry at the Aaron Rest Home.
John served his church as an elder for twenty-seven years. Most of those years he was the stated clerk of the session and board of trustees.
He helped to guide the church in the development of its ministry, and through its four building programs. The congregation truly appreciated John’s service as an elder.
People referred to elder John Zink using such words as faithful, beloved, peacemaker, loyal, Godly, friend, and one who encourages. Such was his character and reputation.
We have suffered the loss of a good and faithful servant of our church. We rejoice that God has called John home. We thank the Lord for faithful and loving service to the Grace Bible Presbyterian Church by Elder John William Zink, Jr.
Adopted by the 63rd General Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church,
meeting in Orchard Park, NY August 5-10, 1999.
