Resolution 79:03: Liberty in Our Day

Whereas in North America our first freedoms of expression and the exercise of religion have come under attack, many are convinced that our God-given rights of worship and preaching the true gospel are in serious jeopardy;

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the 79th General Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church, meeting at the Grace Bible Presbyterian Church in Cape Canaveral, Florida, August 6-11, 2015, urges all ministers, elders, and churches to pray that, if it be pleasing to the Lord, our present liberties might be preserved to us, and we urge the use of every legitimate biblical means (e.g., 1 Tim 2.1-3) to retain our present liberty to worship God and preach the gospel. If, in the providence of God, our liberties should be taken away from us, let us pray that God would give us the grace to obey God rather than man.
